Incorporated in 1990 in Aberdeen, Scotland, Sorbafreeze was set-up to primarily service the fishing industry in Aberdeen. The companies growth has been fuelled by word of mouth as our reputation for customer service and ice pack performance has grown within the industry.
In 2015, Sorbafreeze was purchased by the Pitreavie Group, a Scottish based supplier of specialist packaging. In 2017 Sorbafreeze relocated to the Pitreavie Group`s headquarters in Glenrothes and invested over £750,000 in a new 20,000sq ft purpose-built production facility fully fitted out with custom manufacturing equipment
The original product range;
Comprised only of un-hydrated ice packs which required soaking then freezing to allow temperature safe transit of temperature sensitive products including meat, fish and cheese. Then due to customer demand the range was extended to include pre-hydrated- straight to freezer ice packs and a variety of insulated boxes, envelopes and pockets to provide the complete packaging solution offering temperature maintenance for travel up to 48 hours.
The unrivalled performance of Sorbafreeze in the temperature sensitive packaging sector has driven demand to the extent a further five figure sum of investment in both personnel and product development has been made.
